Video-on-Tap Training Technology Leader Provides Comprehensive, Customized Tools to Educate Organizations and Individuals Alike on the More Than 25 New Features of Office 2010
(GROVELAND, FL) – October 26, 2010 – ClipTraining, an innovator in computer-based training, today announced it has expanded its video-on-tap training services to include Microsoft Office 2010. ClipTraining provides brief, customized videos that allow anyone from one individual to an entire group of corporate employees to access training from any location they prefer – work or home. With more than 25 new features included in Microsoft Office 2010, the Web-based on-demand Learning Management System (LMS) offered by ClipTraining is a comprehensive, cost-effective solution for users looking to educate themselves on the benefits surrounding Office 2010 and Microsoft applications in general.
ClipTraining’s online training and testing interface significantly reduces the time needed for manual staff training and improves employee productivity by allowing the individual to access task-based, focused videos at work or in the comfort of their home. This flexibility provides the user with the ability to learn at their own pace, without feeling self-conscious or pressured; and, with each training video packaged in 3-5 minute overviews, individuals can quickly access information on specific features or functionality that they are having challenges with, eliminating training redundancy.
Microsoft Office 2010 is a productivity suite for Microsoft Windows, and the successor to Microsoft Office 2007. The suite became available for retail as well as online purchase on June 15, 2010 and marks the debut of free online versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, which work with popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. In addition to the more than 25 new features in the Microsoft Office 2010 suite as a whole, there are also new supplementary tools in each individual Office application. In order to maximize the benefits of the applications and features within Microsoft Office 2010, ClipTraining recommends that every user participate in the training and educational resources available on the website. “The new Microsoft Office 2010 suite is comprised of a vast amount of new features, making it a daunting task for an individual to become fully acclimated with the business-critical applications within the software package – many of which would never be discovered without proper training,†said Timothy Duggan, co-founder and CEO of ClipTraining. “For individuals and companies of any size, the ClipTraining approach eliminates the cost, long hours and lack of productivity often required with other forms of training. In just a few minutes, ClipTraining can provide individuals with the focused training they need to master the new Office 2010 features so they can begin accessing and utilizing the various business benefits immediately.â€
In today’s challenging economy, companies are tasked with ensuring their employees are up-to-date with new applications and business-critical technology. With this in mind, companies and individuals alike felt compelled to seek classroom and computer based training (CBT) as their chief source of education and support, which proved to be both expensive and time-consuming. Today, anyone can access the ClipTraining library, which hosts some of the most commonly used business applications and proprietary software and become fully acclimated with the latest technology quickly and cost-effectively.
Pricing and Availability
The ClipTraining Library is available to single users and corporations of every size. Single user pricing starts at $75 for 12 month access and company portals start at $72 per user for 12 month access, with significant bulk discounts. ClipTraining On-Demand Training Videos for Windows 7 Now Available with Open-Captions for the Hearing Impaired
Leading Video-on-Tap Training System Brings Advancements Found in Windows 7 Operating System to the Hearing Impaired
(GROVELAND, FL) –ClipTraining, an innovator in issue-based computer training, today announced the availability of ‘Open-Captions’ as part of the company’s Windows 7 video-on-tap online training services. Designed for individuals as well as corporate employees, ClipTraining’s on-demand Learning Management System (LMS) has adapted education to the way today’s generation receives knowledge with issue-based training video clips that are intuitive, affordable, and now available to the hearing impaired.
According to the U.S. government’s IT Accessibility & Workforce Division (ITAW), the Rehabilitation Act (amended in 1998) requires Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Inaccessible technology interferes with an individual's ability to obtain and use information quickly and easily. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities, and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. The law applies to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology. Under Section 508 (29 U.S.C. ‘794d), agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information that is comparable to the access available to others.
In compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, ClipTraining is supporting hearing impaired users of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system with its online video-on-tap training solution. As the only Learning Management System (LMS) with an issues-based ‘open’ captions video training solution, ClipTraining makes Windows 7 OS training more accessible to a broader number of users. Although sometimes referred to as closed captions, open captions are burned-in, hardcoded captions based off of verbatim transcription of the original video. With ClipTraining’s approach the text becomes a permanent part of the video and cannot be turned on or off by the viewer. Instead, by selecting the on-screen CC logo (used for its familiar feel to viewers) users can see the captioned version of the video. The fonts and colors were purposely chosen to meet Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act guidelines.
The Windows 7 training series with support for the hearing impaired brings a portfolio of application training videos edited into ‘Training Clips’ that serve as on-call support for software issues. ClipTraining’s online training and testing interface reduces manual staff training and improves employee productivity by providing issue-based training. The company’s Windows 7 training series promises to significantly reduce training time requirements for the newest Windows operating system with concise 3-5 minute on-demand training overviews based on the features and functionality software users are having challenges with. This approach mitigates redundant training on topics the user has already been educated on and provides an on-demand resource that extends beyond classroom training.
According to Timothy Duggan, co-founder and CEO of ClipTraining, “Organizations today are faced with the challenge of keeping ALL employees up-to-date with the latest applications and operating systems. Where classroom and onsite computer based training (CBT) are both time consuming and costly, training videos-on-tap provide fast and effective training that is also very affordable. With the addition of open captions across our entire Windows 7 training series, the need for onsite training services is further reduced.”
Pricing and Availability
The ClipTraining Library, which includes Microsoft Windows 7, is available to single users and organizations of every size. Single user pricing starts at $75 for 12 month access and company portals start at $72 per user for 12 month access, with significant bulk discounts.
